Of course the simplest, but by far, even with the high price of retail parts, would be to buy a new futon. For one last year of college, this didn’t seem like a great choice. I had already put a lot of money into a new mattress, and I wanted to get the most out of this frame as possible. The idea was to get it to last until I graduated, and then pitch it at that point, keeping the mattress, and they buy a new frame for my first apartment.

I looked around, and I could get basically the same frame for about another 100 dollars, so I figured if I could repair my frame for less than half that, it would be worth it without a doubt. If I couldn’t then I’d have to bite the bullet and buy a frame.
